Well, I got the report from the University of Minnesota, International Adoption Clinic today. It seems that the Dr. had more questions than answers. From what I can gather the medical reports that we received from Eastern Social Welfare Society, were either incomplete or they are some tests that still need to be done, and one that should have been done prior to the colostomy. The Dr. is also concerned because in the photos he seems to be "slumped"over and the Dr. seems to think he should have ben able to hold his head up more.Depending on the answers that I get from the Dr. at Eastern there may be several more surgeries down the road for Spencer and a lifetime of medication, or if everything goes well, he could live happily ever after.
I was really sad tonight when I read the report, I was really hoping for better news and had alsmost convinced myself that, that is what I was going to get.
I sent an email to my new Social Worker Ann, tonight to tell her know what information is needed. I hope that she can request the information from Eastern right away.
I am also concerned because when Karl and I first started this process we indicated that we would not accept a referral for a child that has a colostomy, and yet that is what I was offered. I'm not really sure what is going on with this agency, but I hope to get some straight answers tomorrow.
