Logged Out!

Our Visa file was logged out of the NVC and sent to the Embassy in Seoul yesterday 3/23/10!!  It took 45 minutes to finally get through.  I was on hold on our house phone and my mom was on hold on her cell!  We figured we would just go with whichever one got through first!  It was mom's call that got answered first.

Now we wait for the EP!

I 171 D

Yep, that's right! Our I 171 D Form ( Notice of Approval of Relative Immigrant Visa Petition) came today!! One 21 days for processing!! Our SW said it may take up to 6 weeks! Woo-Hoo!

At the bottom it has those very special words: APPROVED PETITION FORWARDED TO US DEPARTMENT OF STATE NATIONAL VISA CENTER!!!!

Our I-600 was approved on 3/15/09, so I guess that means I better start calling New Hampshire tomorrow!!

I'm so excited, the only thing that could make all if this even better would be if Karl were here to share in the excitement!

Highchair!

I received a surprise in Friday night! The handsome UPS man brought me a highchair! Karl's dad and step-mom sent us the high chair that we registered for! It is the Graco Contempo-Deco chair. It is really nice!
Thank You!

Gifts

I think I finally have all of the gifts that I am going to bring with us to Korea.  For the foster mother I have a Lancome Gift Set, and a pretty frame with Spencer's picture in it.  The report we received that the foster mothers children are grown, so I don't have to buy for them.  The report did not mention a spouse, so I guess I don't have to worry about him either.  For the Social Worker I got a really nice gift set from Cracker Barrell.  It has  a scented candle, and a matching pen and note pad.  I also picked up some lanyards while we were at the St. Augustine Lighthouse and some post cards in case I need some miscellaneous gifts.

I think Karl and I have spent more time talking and worrying about the gifts than anything else.  It is hard to buy something for  someone you have never met and really don't know anything about.  I

6 Months!

It's been such a long while since I have posted any updates.. First I finally received Spencer's 6 month checkup photo. He's gotten so much bigger is just two months! I can't believe it. I guess I can forget about him wearing any of the really cute 9 month old clothes I bought him so long ago.
Today I got an email that said Lifelink is looking into a possible merger with one or two other large adoption agencies. The email said that all of these changes are going to be for the better and there shouldn't be any problems with our adoption.. I really hope so.
My mom bought for me the nicest scrapbooking kit. I think she is worried that I will go crazy with all of this waiting and is hoping this scrapbook project will keep me entertained. I'm really excited about it because I wanted to make a book for Spencer that would include information about the adoption and his birthparents, but I wasn't sure how to put it together. I hope all of my creative friends and co-workers will offer any advice and tips they may have about scrapbooks!
I ordered really cute cards from tinyprints.com. They are blue and have little animals hanging down from the top fold of the card. In white below the animals it says Spencer Tae Seghorn. I'm going to use these are my thank you cards, as I have already received gifts and beautiful cards. I'm going to include Spencer's 6 month photo inside.
I've heard from Karl a few more times. They still haven't had a port visit yet and now they are on some sort of water restriction because the evaporaor is broke?? Whatever that means. So right now that means no laundry, I hope they get it fixed fast! As of today Karl is 1/3 through the cruise.
Again though I want to thank everyone who has been so helpful and supportive during this journey. I couldn't have made it this far without you. :-)
